It's been a wild ride in the world of AI marketing this year! As we close out 2024, let's take a look back using OpenAI as an example and what it means for your marketing future.
🚀 Multimodal Marvel
OpenAI unveiled GPT-4o, a groundbreaking model capable of processing text, images, and audio. With faster responses and support for multiple languages, it set a new standard for multimodal AI.
💡 AI for All
The cost-effective (99% price reduction) GPT-4o Mini brought advanced AI capabilities to more users, with reduced computational needs—bridging accessibility and innovation.
🧠 Smarter AI
Designed for deep reasoning, the o1-Preview and o1-Mini excelled in scientific research, coding, and mathematics, I use them daily for complex problem-solving.
🏆 Next-Level AI
The full o1 model replaced its preview version, paired with the launch of ChatGPT Pro, offering premium features like unlimited access and the part I LOVE, the most advanced voice capabilities for $200/month. Yep, I happily pay for it.
🔮 Future Forward
OpenAI teased o3 models, promising enhanced reasoning and raw computational horsepower. Faster releases are NOW officially the norm. Who knows what it will cost, but if it stays 75% better in full release than o1 I don’t think most will care.
It’s not your imagination; the releases are accelerating. As more money, talent, compute, and focus pour into building AI, the race to AGI quickens. It would be one thing if we were just getting better AI, but we are also getting significantly lower costs:
Let's make the following assumptions for 2025:
Better AI: The pace of improvement in 2024 has been staggering, and it's set to continue. Think enhanced natural language understanding, more realistic generative outputs, and decision-making models that outperform human intuition in niche tasks. From creative ad copy to predictive analytics, expect AI to raise the bar on what’s achievable in every industry.
Cheaper AI: While the cost reduction won’t match the dramatic plunge of 2024, a projected 40% decrease is nothing to scoff at. This makes advanced AI accessible not just for big players but also for small businesses and startups. Lower costs mean broader adoption across diverse fields like healthcare, education, and creative industries.
Connected AI: The real game-changer lies in integration. By 2025, every major tool you care about will likely tap into Large Language Models (LLMs). Your CRM, analytics dashboards, email tools, and even project management apps will feature seamless AI-enhanced functionalities. This interconnected ecosystem will allow for smoother workflows, personalized automation, and data-driven decision-making across the board.
The businesses that strategically combine better, cheaper, and data-connected AI to redesign their workflows will pull ahead. From personalized Ad campaigns to competitive data analysis, AI is redefining my idea of competitive advantage.
Having your team fall behind isn't an option, as someone is doing this natively in an AI-first framework today. What happens when that cost comes down in May 40-50%?

Focusing on Video
We have reduced costs from thousands of dollars to hundreds, but I can see $50 per 15-second spot in ‘25. We just have to get the workflow correct.
