Hello, hello! 👋🏻

I had a lot of interesting conversations this week…

Maybe it was people seeing their stock portfolios be impacted by the SaaS Apocalypse

Or maybe it was the four AI ads in the Super Bowl.

I like this one best from Anthropic. 👇

Or maybe they got some time and played with Claude Opus 4.6.

Or maybe it was this article On the downsides of AI from the Wall Street Journal on AI .

But suddenly, a lot of people want to talk to me about AI.

And most interestingly, it was people that don't normally talk to me about AI. People who were never going to be impacted by AI are suddenly realizing they might be.

Maybe their high-margin software company won't be there in the same form.

Maybe the way they implemented AI in their company isn't really working.

Maybe that hodgepodge of AI tools is just burning their people out.

I can't tell you exactly what shifted, but it did

So if your boss is listening to you a little more about AI, Or your wife. Or whoever the big AI skeptic is in your life.

Let's review the facts with them.

Opus 4.6 or ChatGPT 5.2 are likely better than 50% of your current human team at a wide range of tasks.

The average gap between frontier AI model releases went from 77 days in 2022 to 16 days in 2025.

In the next two or three releases, the models will likely be smarter (math smart) than 99% of the people on this planet but still hallucinating 10% of the time and needing considerable adult supervision.

Think daycare for teenage AI.

Let's call it three releases, so we have nine months until it's smarter than most people, you and I know.

What are you going to do with those nine months?

For me, getting better with AI and going to the beach with my family.

It's easy to have a few data points startle us.

The reality is only about 12% of folks are using AI daily for work.

Which means we have a long way to go before Salesforce goes out of business.

As a reminder, AOL ended Dial-up service September of 2025 🙂

So chill out, head to the beach, hang with your family, but have a plan.

Using AI as a skill. It's a utility, not a tool, and if you can talk, you can use AI.

Giphy

The question is, what are you using AI for?

See you on the beach,

Alec
